Tony R. Carreno, 89, of Topeka, passed away June 7, 2012 at St. Francis Hospital. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on September 23, 1922 the son of Thomas and Guadalupe (Rodriguez) Carreno. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW Philip Billard Post #1650 and American Legion Capitol Post #1. Tony was a Coach Carpenter for AT & SF Railway Company for over 32 years of service. He enjoyed watching car races and attended several of the Indy races. He especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Tony married Margaret Guerrero and together they celebrated over 70 years of marriage. He is survived by his wife, Margaret, their children, Maria Whitcomb, Tony "Little Tony" (Patricia) Carreno, Mary Lou (Bill) Kramer and Guy (Connie) Carreno, ten grandchildren, and many great and great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Aurora "Lola" Gonzalez, Jovita Mendoza, Helen Hidalgo and Connie Herrera. He was preceded in death by a son Guy Carreno in 1951 and a grandson, James Wayne Carreno in 1968. Tony was cremated. A Parish Rosary will be at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial on Monday, June 11th at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Inurnment will be held later in Mt.
