Jerome Dunagan

Jerome Dunagan, 79, of Maple Hill, passed away on March 8, 2013 at Rolling Hills Health Center. He was born in rural Maple Hill, Kansas on April 5, 1933 the son of Edward Jerome and Ellen A. (Rafferty) Dunagan. Jerome was a graduate of Dover High School in 1950. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a farmer in Wabaunsee and Shawnee Counties. Jerome loved his family and farming. Jerome is a member of Christ the King Catholic Church. He is survived by two brothers, Edward Patrick Dunagan and William T. Dunagan and wife Mary all of Maple Hill, three nephews, Timothy, Daniel and Kevin Dunagan and a niece, Kathleen Reed, great nieces and nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. His family would like to thank the many doctors, nurses, aides and staff at St. Francis Hospital, Topeka Health Care Center and Rolling Hills Health Center for all their loving care during his long illness. He will lie in state on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a Parish Rosary prayed at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Christ the King Catholic Church and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
