Frank H. Galvan, 87, of Topeka, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013 at Eventide Convalescent Center. He was born June 9, 1925 in Topeka, the son of Amador and Margarita (Hernandez) Galvan. Frank served in the US Navy during WW II. He was employed at AT & SF Railroad for many years before his retirement in 1985. He was a member of Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church. He greatly loved his grandchildren. He married Carman Alejos on March 26, 1945. She preceded him in death on January 26, 2003 he was also preceded in death by a son, Daniel Joseph Galvan on May 8, 1992, two brothers, Vivano H. Galvan and Basilio H. Galvan along with a granddaughter Tiffany Galvan who died in infancy. He is survived by two sons, Daniel Joseph Galvan, II of Tulsa, OK and Frank Eric Galvan of Topeka along with two daughters, Eloise Flores and Kristina Galvan both of Topeka. Three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren also survive. Frank will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church. Interment with military honors provided by the Philip Billard Post #1650 of the V.F.W. will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
