Sophia Nicole Jackson, 13 months, died February 21, 2013 at her home. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on December 31, 2011 the daughter of Charles Jackson and Ashley Carlson. Sophia will be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laughter, her love of music and being tickled. She was baptized and confirmed at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Sophia is survived by her parents, Charles Jackson and Ashley Carlson, her grandparents, Judith Jackson, Christopher Carlson and JoAnn Carlson, great grandmothers, Ida Mobley and Mary Carlson, great grandfather, Carl Carlson, and her aunts, Heather Carlson and Heather Kelly-Stone and uncle John Stone. She will be dearly missed by all who loved her. The family would like to thank all the staff at Children?s Mercy Hospital and the Ronald McDonald House both in Kansas City for all their loving care of Sophia. They would like to especially thank TARC for helping with Sophia?s Bucket List and for all they did to make her life so fulfilling. Sophia will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Wednesday after 2:00 p.m. where her family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Children?s Mercy Hospital, The Ronald McDonald House or TARC and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
