Johnny "Buffalo" Trammel, 68, of Lecompton, KS, died February 10, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Sentinel, OK on March 30, 1944 the son of Masten and Gladys (Moore) Trammel. Johnny was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He retired from BNSF Railway where he worked in freight claims as well as other divisions of the railroad. He was a member of Big Springs United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Lecompton Historical Society. Johnny enjoyed fishing and hunting. Johnny married Georgia Simmons in Miami, OK, on October 28, 1994. She survives. He is also survived by a son Tracey (Lisa) Trammel of Silver Lake, KS, three step children, Stephanie Thomas of Lecompton, KS, Sherie (Matthew) Willis of Hoyt, KS, and Eddie (Gina) Teets of Tonganoxie, KS. He has two sisters, Mary Sue (Frank) Hines of Hobart, OK, and Maxine (Manlif) Barnes of Birmingham, AL. He has seven grandchildren, Ethan, Cole and Gracie Trammel, Trey and Sami Rae Thomas, Aubrey Willis, and Gabriel Teets as well as six nieces and many loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Stephen Trammel and a son-in-law, Tom Thomas. Johnny will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home with interment following at the St. Peter?s Cemetery at Big Springs, KS.
