Ricardo J. Blanco 54, of Topeka, KS, died January 28, 2013 at his home. He was a graduate of Hayden High School. Ricardo was a contract custodian; amongst the places he worked included Harry Turners, The Mills Building, Shawnee County Courthouse and the YWCA. Ricardo had not worked recently due health reasons. A sports and music enthusiast, Ricardo, enjoyed attending Kansas State football games and live music performances. His favorite concerts were Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, Jackson?s Victory, Rockfest and the Paxico Blues Fest. Ricardo loved to read and was never without a radio at his side. He was preceded in death by his parents Jesse and Felipa Blanco. Surviving family members include a sister, Joyce, brothers Juan and Jose Blanco, nephew Brandon Blanco, niece Brooke Ackerman and grand nephews, Dakota B. and Tatum Blanco. Ricardo will lie in state after 12:00, noon, Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends until 3:00 p.m. Sharing of memories will start at 3:00 p.m. Cremation will follow the service.
