John Henry Long

John Henry Long, 58, of Topeka, died January 27, 2013 at his home. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on June 1, 1954 the son of Willard and Avis (Robison) Long. John enjoyed watching westerns, especially those with John Wayne and Clint Eastwood. He also liked to fish. He worked with his in-laws as a store clerk for the Topeka Carnival Supply Company. John married Elizabeth Hammerland who predeceased him in 2008. He is survived by four children, John Long Jr. of Wamego, Ks., James (Jamie Woodcock) Long of Topeka, Emmie Long of Wamego and Michael Long also of Topeka, six grandchildren and three siblings; Joyce, Donald and Jimmie. John was cremated. A Memorial Service will be held at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday, February 1st at 1:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603, to assist his family.
