Richard Lee Green

Richard Lee Green, 82, of Topeka, died January 23, 2013 at his home. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on June 29, 1930 the son of Simpson and Elizabeth (Stephens) Green. He graduated in 1948 from Topeka H.S. Richard married Elsie Osborn in October of 1965, she died January 19, 1999. He worked for the Santa Fe as a Special Agent prior to his retirement. He was a member of the Gage Park Baptist Church, Golden Rule Lodge #90 AF & AM, Scottish Rite Bodies, Arab Shrine and Santa Fe Old Timers. He is survived by his children, Rafalla Respress of Seymour, MO., Michael (Juna) Green of Topeka, Jane (Bill) Mawdsley of Topeka, a sister, Shirley (Mel) Christenberry of Topeka, six grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Richard will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A Masonic Service will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home by the Golden Rule Lodge #90 AF & AM. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Shriner?s Crippled Children?s Hospital in his memory.
