Lois June Bullock Johnson-Willoughby

Lois June Bullock Johnson Willoughby, 87, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2013, at the Peggy Kelly House in Topeka, Kansas. She was born February 13, 1926 in Topeka, Kansas, the daughter of Reuben Vernice Bullock, Sr. and Velma (Altman) Bullock. She graduated from Highland Park High School in 1944 and attended the Jane C. Stormont School of Nursing. She was employed at Capper Publications and later worked at the Kansas Neurological Institute. She married Julius E. Johnson July 13, 1947. He passed away May 28, 1993. She married Felton (Phil) Willoughby on June 5, 1997. He passed away January 8, 2000. Lois was an avid gardener, often supplying the neighborhood with fresh fruits and vegetables for many years. She also enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing and painting. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and she always loved her family to be around her. Survivors include 5 children, Julie Greene (Jim), Flower Mound, Texas; Eric Johnson, Topeka; Jill Clark, Topeka; Wynn Johnson (DeAnn), Southlake, Texas; and Robin Johnson, Topeka; 8 grandchildren, Lisa Winslow (Paul), Mark Greene, Jessica Sunderland, Jaquelyn Sunderland, Joseph Sunderland (Nikki), Jennifer Watts (Tim), Drew Johnson, and Blake Berillon, 6 great grandchildren, and brother Reuben Vernice Bullock, Jr. (Cynthia), Wagoner, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas, www.brennanmathenafh.com Monday, April 22, 2013, with a viewing beginning at Noon prior to services. Cremation is planned. Burial will be on Tuesday, April 23rd at 11:00 am at Topeka Cemetery, 1601 S.E. 10th Avenue, Topeka, Kansas.
