Caroline Jolly

Caroline Jolly, 87, of Topeka, died December 28, 2011 at her home. She was born in Chambon-Feugerolles, France on October 30, 1924 the daughter of Boleslaw and Sophie (Bak) Kedzierski. Caroline was a Nurse Technician for Stormont-Vail Hospital until her retirement in 1981. She enjoyed knitting, crafts, collecting dolls and listening to music, especially classical music. Caroline was a volunteer for several local Topeka churches for many years. She was a member of Mater Dei Parish. She married Eugene L. Jolly, Sr. in Mancieulles, France on December 8, 1945. He preceded her in death on July 29, 2001. She was also preceded in death by a brother and two sisters. Caroline is survived by her children; Eugene L. Jolly, Jr., (Roberta), Cynthia Anne Woods, Dorothy Renee Cheatham, (Keith), Yvonne Kathleen Jones, (Anthony), Stephan Alfred Jolly, Sr., (Jackie) and Andre Daniel Jolly, (Monica), 18 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren. She is also survivied by a brother, Alfred Kedzierski (Leocatie), a sister, Josephine Tamiozzo, a brother-in-law, Henry Navrot, three sisters-in-law, Mildred V. Wheeler, Dorothy L. Wells and Artress Jolly, numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends both in the United States and France. She will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei Assumption Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Penwell-Gabel Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Grace Hospice and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
