Mary Lou Sanchez

Mary Lou Sanchez, 67, of Eudora, died December 27, 2011 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital. She was born on May 2, 1944 in Holton, Kansas the daughter of Willis and Bernice (Kranz) Jones. Mary Lou was retired from Sunflower Ammunition in 2000 where she worked in Payroll. She then worked at the Tall Oaks Conference Center in Linwood in the Food Service Department. She married Jesse Sanchez in Topeka, Kansas on January 26, 1963. He preceded her in death on March 24, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her dad, Willis Jones, and two sisters, Shirley and Donna. Mary Lou is survived by her mother, Bernice Jones of Holton, Ks.; her children, Lisa (Kelly) Stratton of Lawrence, Julie (Scott) Gregory of Linwood, Ks., Tammy Sanchez (Bruce Mooney) of Tonganoxie, Ks., and Jeff (Kim) Sanchez of Kearney, Mo. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, two great granddaughters, a brother, Ron Jones of Holton, Ks. and two sisters, Darlene Wade of Fruitland, Idaho, and Jean Brewer of Ontario, Oregon. Mary Lou will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be in West Lawn Memorial Gardens.
