Bernard Hefner

Bernard "Bernie" Hefner, 87, of Topeka, died April 26, 2012 at his home. He was born in Topeka, KS on May 20, 1924, the son of Michael and Magdalena (VonFeldt) Hefner. Bernard was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He was an auditor for TWA in Kansas City, MO, retiring after 30 years of service. He is survived by his brother, Francis and his wife Carol Hefner of Topeka. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Bernard was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Hefner and a sister, Mary Burghart. Bernard will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. A Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
