Victoria Campos, 87, of Topeka, died April 13, 2012 at her home. Victoria was born July 28, 1924 in Leon GTO, Mexico the daughter of Rito and Leonila (Mata) Valdivia. She was a homemaker. Victoria was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society and the 3rd Order of St. Augustine. She was also a member of the G.I. Forum and a lifelong volunteer at the Fiesta Mexicana. Victoria married Jesus "Jesse" Campos on June 8, 1944 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 15, 2003. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Herlinda Holmes, Angelina Valdivia, Frances Hernandez and one brother, Tony Valdivia. She is survived by two daughters, Delores Campos of Lawrence, Pauline (Guillermo) Lopez of Paola and her companion, John Anguiano. Other survivors include seven sisters, Hazel Rocha, Maria (Tony) Chavez, Lucy Martin, Carmen Torres, Susan (John) Perez, Monica (David) Matchett all of Topeka, Maryann (Carlos) Tejada of San Antonio, TX, three brothers, Rito (Bertha) Valdivia, Angel (Mary) Valdivia, and Raymundo Valdivia all of Topeka. One grandson Armando Jesus Jimenez, two granddaughters, Maria Elena Lopez and Maria Theresa Lopez, three great grandsons, Xavier Jesus Jimenez, Kaiden Jordan Jimenez, and Brandon Raulsten along with numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Victoria will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Monday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home were an Altar Society and 3rd Order of St. Augustine Rosary will be prayed at 4:30 p.m. followed by a Prayer Vigil Service starting at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Grantville Cemetery.
