James Joseph "Jim" Ramsey, 68, of Topeka, died April 5, 2012 at the Fairlawn Heights Nursing Home. He was born in Kansas City, Missouri on November 13, 1943 the son of Charles Leonard and Regina Catherine (Pendergast) Ramsey. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in Vietnam. He was a graduate of Hayden High School in 1962 and a member of Mater Dei Assumption Parish. Jim was married to Carol A. Godfrey on September 19, 1975 in Topeka, Kansas. She preceded him in death on January 7, 1995. He is survived by a daughter, Jena Marie (Larry Jr.) Cripps, of Topeka, a brother, Jerry (Lana) Ramsey of Union Grove, WI, a sister Renee (James) Brown of Squires, MO and four grandchildren, Sabrina Ramsey, Cameron Cripps, Harley Cripps and Jocelyn Cripps. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Mater Dei Assumption Church with a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial following at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2012. Inurnment will be held at a later date at Penwell Gabel Cemetery and Mausoleum.
