Jose G. Melendez II

Jose G. Melendez, II, 46, of Topeka, died Friday at St. Francis Hospital. Jose was born July 22, 1965 in Mexico the son of Jose and Maria (Soto) Melendez. He worked at Deggingers? Foundry and was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Jose married Maria Castro in Topeka, she survives. Other survivors include his children, Anais Melendez (Eleazar Correa), Diana Melendez, Jose G. Melendez, III and a granddaughter, Dayanara Correa. His parents, Jose and Maria, five siblings, Lazaro, Juan, Moises, Hortencia and Maria Magdalena Melendez also survive. Jose will lie in state at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church after 4:00 p.m. Tuesday where a prayer service will begin at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. The family suggests contributions in Jose?s memory to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and send in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home.
