Dalila B. Ramirez, 77, of Topeka, died March 24, 2012 at her home. She was born in Gomez Palacio, Durango, Mexico on January 6, 1935 the daughter of Guadalupe and Carmen (Armendariz) Bautista. She was a resident of Topeka since June of 1963. Dalila worked as a sales clerk selling jewelry for Dillards, Jones Store, Steinmart, and Gordon?s Jewelers. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, traveling, especially to see family in Mexico, and loved being a grandma. She was the director of the Aguilas Aztecas, a folk art dancing group. She married Alfredo C. Ramirez in El Paso, Texas in 1951. He preceded her in death on December 30, 2005. She is survived by three sons, Alfredo Ramirez Jr. of Seattle, Wa., Gerardo Ramirez of Topeka, Hector Ramirez (Jessica Martin) of Topeka, four daughters, Josefina Ramirez-Marmolejo (Larry), Livia Banuelos, and Veronica Ramirez C. all of Topeka, and Linda Ramirez (Juan Vargas) of Amarillo, Tx., two brothers, Rodolfo Bautista of Mexico, and Jose Angel Rodriguez of El Paso, Texas, 23 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Dalila will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Wednesday after 3:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 1:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
