Cecil C. Hoffman, 94, Topeka, died Tuesday at Midland Hospice Care. He was born April 16, 1917 in Jefferson City, MO the son of James and Florence (Nightingale) Hoffman. He was a United States Army Veteran of WW II and the Korean Conflict. Cecil was a painter for 20 years at the Kansas Neurologic Institute retiring in 1983. He was a member of the American Legion Post #1. He married Goldie M. Cain on November 9, 1939 in Mexico, MO. She preceded him in death in 1991. He was also preceded in death by his son, James "Fred" Hoffman in 1999. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Bev Cain of Topeka a grandson, James Hoffman of Osawatomie, a granddaughter, Pamela Suarez of Key Colony Beach, FL. Three great granddaughters, one great grandson and two great-great granddaughters also survive. Cecil will lie in state from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. Friday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Penwell Gabel Memorial Park.
