Anne C. Sale

Anne C. Sale, 81, of Topeka, Kansas died March 9, 2012. She was born in Grainfield, Kansas on June 13, 1930, the daughter of Joseph and Amelia (Wasinger) Schiefelbein. She lived most of her childhood in Topeka, and attended St. Joseph Catholic School. Anne married James P. Sale on April 25, 1949, and lived most of her adult life in El Paso, Texas, where she retired as a PBX supervisor at Southwestern General Hospital before moving back to Topeka in 1995. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, The Altar Society, Legion of Mary, the Moose Lodge, and the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. Survivors include her husband of 63 years, a son James J. Sale of Carrollton, Texas, a brother George Schiefelbein and a sister Helen Pfeiffer, both of Topeka. She was preceded in death by siblings Edward, Joseph, Amelia, Sylvester, Mary, Eugene, Irene and Leona. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A parish rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service. Inurnment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
