Mary Wiles

Mary "Chriss" Wiles, 65, of Topeka, died February 21, 2012 at Midland Hospice House. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on July 2, 1946 the daughter of Joseph and Barbara (Krotter) Jacobs. Chriss was a graduate of Hayden High School in 1963. Chriss was an Administrative Assistant for the Housing and Neighborhood Development Office for the City of Topeka. She had previously worked for Modern Office Methods for 22 years. She was a member of Mater Dei Holy Name Parish and previously of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Chriss was a Girl Scout Leader for Troop #7118, and an active member of the church in various volunteer capacities. She is survived by a son, Gerald "Jerry" Wiles of Topeka, two sisters, Barbara Miller of Canyon Country, CA., and Pat Bockenstette of Abilene, KS., two granddaughters, Ali Wiles of Topeka and Branna Kraus of Canton, Ks. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Bob and Jake. Chriss will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Thursday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. with a rosary prayed at 7:00. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei Holy Name Parish. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
