Gwen Ann Sears Johnson

Gwen Ann Sears Johnson, 54, of Lawrence, passed away September 6, 2011 at her home. She was born September 29, 1956 in Topeka the daughter of Robert D. and Joyce M. Farrell Sears. Gwen graduated from Topeka West High School in 1974 and had attended Kansas University. Gwen was the owner of Johnson Chemical Co. She loved bookkeeping and was passionate about it. Gwen was a hard worker and loving mother. Gwen was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Lawrence. She is survived by her mother Joyce M. Sears of Topeka, son Robert "Dane" Johnson of Lawrence, sister, Mary L. Steuber (Terry) of Topeka and two nephews, Aaron and Alec Steuber of Topeka. She was preceded in death by her father Robert D. Sears on November 8, 1974 and a daughter Angel Dawn Johnson on March 30, 1982. The family will receive friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home followed by a funeral at 11:00 a.m. Cremation will follow. Inurnment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery at a later date.
