Frances (McKeever) McNeive, 89, of Topeka, passed away August 18, 2011 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was born July 13, 1922 in rural Jackson County the daughter of Clyde and Grace (Marshall) McKeever. Frances was a graduate of St. Joseph Nursing School in Kansas City, MO. She was a Lieutenant in the Army Nurse?s Corps during WW II. Frances was employed as a registered nurse at Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. for many years until her retirement in 1988. She had previously worked at Winter General VA Hospital. She enjoyed painting and spending time with her family especially grandchildren and great grandchildren. Frances was a lifelong member of Assumption Catholic Church, Philip Billard Post #1650 of the VFW and the Goodyear Retirees Club. She was married to Harold McNeive on September 24, 1947 in Topeka. He preceded her in death on February 5, 1978. A daughter Kathleen McNeive preceded in death March 18, 1993, a granddaughter Michelle McNeive on July 24, 2002, and a brother Chuck McKeever. Survivors include; four sons, Michael A. McNeive (Barbara), Ed McNeive (Jane), Danny McNeive (Tania) and Randy K. McNeive all of Topeka, six daughters, Patricia C. Koerner (John) of Lecompton, Lynda Raikes (Tom) of Topeka, Peggy McNeive (James Draeger) of Shawnee, Connie Collins (Randy) of Topeka, Grace Davey (Randy) of Topeka, Denise Barron (Scott) of Ponca City, OK, three brothers, Bob McKeever (Avis) of San Diego, CA, Harry McKeever (Rose) of Berryton and Dean McKeever (Georgia) of Hamilton, MT and a sister Betty Harlow (Bill) of Topeka. Twenty-five grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren also survive. Frances will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. A parish rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at Mater Dei?s Assumption Church. Burial with military honors provided by Philip Billard Post #1650 of the VFW will follow at Rochester Cemetery.
