Flora Ramirez

Maria “Flora” Ramirez, 101, of Topeka, died June 29, 2011 at her home.

She was born in Dolores Hidalgo, GTO Mexico on October 25, 1909 the daughter of Tiodoro and Ufemia Martinez.

Flora worked for LULAC Senior Center.  She loved people and especially enjoyed children.  Her hobbies included crocheting and singing. 

She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church.  Her faith was very important to her.

Flora married Domingo Ramirez in Dolores Hidalgo, GTO Mexico.  He died in 1938.  She was also preceded in death by twin infants, Selso, Reinalda and Emilia.  She is survived by five children, Apolinar Ramirez of Mexico, Faustina “Tina” Ramirez and Natividad “Nati” Ramirez of the home, Quintino and Francisco Ramirez both of Mexico, Nineteen grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

Flora will lie in state at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church after 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday.  Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
