Adam J. Long

March 25, 1917 — June 22, 2011

Adam J. Long, 94, of Topeka, died June 22, 2011 in an accident.

 

He was born in Topeka, Kansas on March 25, 1917 the son of Peter and Mary (Kaeberle) Long.

 

Adam was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in World War II.

 

He worked for Ohse Meats as a salesman prior to his retirement.  He was most proud of the fact that he was a farmer and raised cattle his whole life.

 

Adam’s hobbies were working on his farm as well as flying airplanes.

 

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

 

Adam is survived by his brother, Bernard Long of the home.  He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Irene Johnson and Catherine Schwermann, and five brothers, mike, Joe, Paul, Pete and Albert.  He is survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

 

Adam was cremated.  A private memorial mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church.
