Lenora Maye Henderson, 88, Grantville, died Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at Clare Bridge Senior Living in Topeka.
She was born April 30, 1923 in Silver Lake the daughter of Alex and Lora (Burks) Hansford.
Lenora worked in the Supply Depot at Forbes Field during WW II along with working on the family farm.
She was a member of the Grantville United Methodist Church where she served all offices of the United Methodist Women and taught Sunday school. She volunteered as a 4-H leader and loved sewing, gardening and cooking.
Lenora married Clifton “Clif” Lou Henderson, Sr. on November 13, 1942 in Topeka, he preceded her in death March 17, 2008.
She is survived by her children, Steven Henderson, (Amphai), Clifton Lou Henderson, Jr., (Dorothyanne), Curtis Henderson, (Kelly), Marcia Henderson, (Chuck) all of Topeka, a sister, Arline McGinnis of Denver, twelve grandchildren, Stephen, Gaysorn, Michelle, Clifton, Dana, Jamie, Brent, Angela, Tristan, Kathy, Mariah and Clifton, ten great grandchildren, Walter, Kyle, April, Haley, Takoda, Constance, James, Dallas, Brandon and Brentlee.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home with a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be in Grantville Cemetery.
