Ernest Servantez

Ernest Servantez, 56, of Topeka, passed away April 5, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer.

He was born December 3, 1954 in Topeka the son of Tony Servantez, Sr. and Rita (Martinez) Servantez.  Ernest served in the United States Army.

Ernest enjoyed music, fast pitch softball, playing drums and was a member of several pool leagues.  He loved his dogs Missy and Sara.

Survivors include his parents, Tony and Rita Servantez, Sr., three sons, Brian (Melissa), Jason (Ashley) and A.J. Servantez, three daughters, Maria (Bill) Heydenreich, Tamara Christian all of Topeka, Sarah (Jackson) Christian of Colonial Beach, VA, one brother Tony (Leslie) Servantez, Jr. of Topeka, two sisters, Theresa (Eddie) Gibson of Forest Lake, MN and Cindy (Sue) Servantez of Topeka.  Eighteen grandchildren, three nieces and two nephews also survive.  He was preceded in death by a sister Mary Delores Servantez.

Ernest will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. followed by a rosary at  

7:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Burial will follow in Topeka Cemetery with military honors provided by Philip Billard Post #1650 of the VFW.
