Joanne L. Devore, of Topeka, died March 30, 2011 at her home.
She was born on March 1, 1927 in Belvue, Kansas the daughter of Herman and Theresa (Hesse) Uhlrig.
Joanne was a registered nurse and had worked for the State Hospital and retired from the Menninger Foundation.
She was a member of Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church and was a former member of Holy Name.
Joanne was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Charles Uhlrig and a sister Agnes Banzhaf.
She is survived by two nephews, Mark Uhlrig of Topeka and Gregg Uhlrig of Phoenix, AZ., and three nieces, Patti Wilmes of Topeka and Marilyn Banzhaf and Katherine Banzhaf both of Anchorage, Alaska, and several great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on April 25th at 10:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary. Inurnment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery at St. Marys, Kansas.
