James Jefferson Berry, Sunrise on January 28, 1959, Sunset on February 25, 2011.
James was born to Thomas J. Berry and Eva M. Berry-Gore on January 28, 1959.
He received his education in the Bertie County Public School System. He accepted Christ as his personal Savior at an early age and joined the Cedar Landing Baptist Church in Windsor, North Carolina. After completing high school he joined the U.S. Army and served for 13 years.
James was employed at Josten’s for the past 18 years.
Although he is no longer with us he will remain in our hearts and spirit forever. He leaves behind his mother, Eva Mae Gore, a sister, Selena Gore, three brothers, Thomas Berry, Terry Berry and Christopher Berry, four uncles, William Pugh, James Pugh, Joseph Pugh and McAuthor Berry, two aunts, Verneil Hendrix and Sarah Pugh-Joyner, a great aunt, Arimentha Pennerman, twelve nieces and nephews, 24 great nieces and nephews and a host of cousins and friends.
James will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m.
where the family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m, Funeral Services are pending at Cherry's Funeral Home in Windsor, North Carolina.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
