Shari Lynn Hylton, 36, of Topeka, died of breast cancer on February 2, 2011 at Midland Hospice House.
She was born in Emporia, Kansas on November 16, 1974, the daughter of Blaine A. and Carol (Yoder) Warkentine.
Shari was a graduate of Emporia High School and Bryan Career College. She worked at the Lyon County State Bank and had most recently been a Pharmacy Technician for Sam’s Club.
She loved movies, music, reading, camping and spending time with family.
Shari married Stephen Hylton in Topeka on October 21, 2006. He survives. She is also survived by a daughter Alaina Renee Hylton of the home, her parents Blaine and Carol Warkentine, a sister Shana L. (Shane) Meyer of Hays, Ks., a brother Luke Warkentine and fiancé Tammy Counts of Garden Plain, Ks., and two grandmothers, Thelma Warkentine of Peabody, Ks. and Anne Yoder of Wichita, Ks., her father and mother-in-law Dick and Kathy Hylton of Topeka, two sisters-in-law Angie (Paul) Shields of Wichita and Pam (Bob) VanDeventer of Andover and nieces and nephews, Kinsey and Chase Meyer, Logan Wilkens, Ryan and Brendan Shields and Nic and Beth VanDeventer.
Shari will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends after 4:00 p.m. and a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. followed by remembrances. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
