Rodolfo “Rudy” Rodriguez, 84, Topeka, died January 20, 2011 at Topeka Community Healthcare Center.
Rudy was born January 12, 1927 in Topeka the son of Jose A. and Martiniana (Rodriguez) Rodriguez. He was stationed in Japan with the United States Army during WW II.
Rudy was employed by the City of Topeka as a driver for the Refuse Department, he was previously employed at Santa Fe Railroad. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and loved dancing, reading and watching westerns.
He is survived by his sister, Consuelo Obregon, Topeka, many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Ursula and Florence Rodriguez and two brothers Pedro and Jose J. Rodriguez.
Rudy will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Tuesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
