Marvin J. Williams, Sr., 61, of Topeka, passed away January 15, 2011 at Midland Hospice.
He was born June 30, 1949 in Ft. Towson, OK the son of Jessie and Obeta (Pugh) Williams.
Marvin was a carman for AT & SF Railroad before he retired. One of Marvin’s hobbies was fishing.
He was dedicated as a Jehovah Witness.
Marvin was married to Sandra Qualls on June 30, 1971 in Lawrence. She preceded him in death in 1995. A granddaughter Ceyonia Williams and a brother Jessie Williams also preceded him in death.
Survivors include, three sons, Marvin Williams, Jr. of Independence, MO, Secundo Williams and Tercero Williams both of Topeka, mother Obeta Williams of Topeka, brother Thurman Williams of Topeka and three sisters, Joyce Hayes and Gayla Qualls both of Topeka and Regina Crowder of Wichita. Six grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Williams was cremated. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 22nd at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a Memorial Service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Private family inurnment will be at a later date.
