Barbara J. Wetter, 75, of Clearwater, formerly of Topeka passed away December 29, 2010 in a Wichita hospital.
She was born July 24, 1935 in Atchison the daughter of Glenn and Mildred (Moore) Sloop. Barbara was a 1953 graduate of Washington High School.
Barbara had various interests including, traveling, doing crafts and painting, drawing, knitting and cake baking and decorating. Her outgoing personality allowed her to socialize with others which she very much enjoyed.
She was a member of St. Matthew Catholic Church in Topeka.
Barbara was married to Lester Anthony Wetter (former Asst. Superintendent at Shawnee Heights School District) on August 4, 1956. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1984.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce Wetter and his fiancée Stephanie Reith of Washington and Michael Wetter and his husband Shawn Thompson of Coppell, TX. Three sisters, Betty Edson (Dean) of Auburn, Bonnie Wann (Curtis) of Carlisle, PA and Nancy Reynolds (Jack) of Goddard also survive.
Barbara will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. A parish rosary will be prayed at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
