Helen R. O'Trimble

August 11, 1941 — November 24, 2010

Helen R. O’Trimble, 69, Topeka, died Wednesday, November 24, 2010 at Topeka Community Health Care Center.

 

She was born August 11, 1941 in Atchinson, Kansas the daughter of Martin VanBuren and Lillian Ruth (Suritte) Dugger.

 

Helen and her husband owned a restaurant and pool hall in Nortonville.  After selling their business they moved to Topeka where she worked at the Shawnee County Court House, cleaned homes, and was a loving wife, mom and grandma.

 

She was married to Vernon “Bub” O’Trimble on April 5, 1960.  They celebrated 50 years of marriage.  He preceded her in death April 29, 2010.  She was also preceded in death by a sister Shirley Black, two brothers, Bill and Ervin Dugger.  She is survived by a son, Shawn T. and his wife, Teri O’Trimble, daughter, Vicki and her husband Aundray Durr, three grandchildren, Zara O’Trimble, Shawn V. O’Trimble, and Isaiha Durr, five sisiters, Betty Bramble, of Rushville, MO, Carol Meyers of Omaha, NE,  Linda Stahl of Atchison, KS, Sherry Crane of FL, and Mary Kim Smith of Leavenworth, KS, two brothers, Kenny Dugger of Leavenworth, KS and Donald Dugger of St. Joseph, MO.

 

Helen will lie in state after 4:30 p.m. Monday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home shere the family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.  Graveside service will be 12:30 p.m.Tuesday at the Nortonville Cemetery.

 

Memorial contributions bay be made to the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home to be designated by the family at a later date, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.
