Alan E. Day

Alan E. Day, 73, of Topeka, died November 24, 2010 at his home.

He was born on November 1, 1937 in Allen, Kansas the son of Clifford William and Elnora (McGregor) Day.

Alan purchased vehicles for car dealers in Topeka and most recently in Kansas City.

He married Joyce Elaine Gaddis who survives.  He is also survived by their children, Tammy Day of Colorado Springs, CO., Craig Day and his wife Carla of Jamestown, North Dakota, and Shelley Alcorn and her husband Jim of Honolulu, Hawaii, eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, a brother Bill Day of Mulvane, Kansas and a sister Phyllis Hess of Topeka.

He will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Vigil Service will be held at 6:00 p.m. followed by the family receiving friends until 8:00 p.m.  Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church.  Cremation will follow.  Inurnment will be in the Waverly Cemetery on Thursday at 10:00 a.m.
