Harold Aragon, 86, of Topeka, passed away September 19, 2010 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born November 5, 1923 in Morley, CO the son of Daniel and Adelina (Montoya) Aragon. Harold served in the United States Army and Air Force for twenty years.
Harold was employed by the AT & SF Railroad for thirty-four years before he retired in 1983. At the time of his retirement he was a supervisor/foreman.
He enjoyed wood working, gardening, bowling and coaching baseball.
Harold was a member of Mater Dei Parish and The Retired Enlisted Association.
He was married to Dolores E. Vigil on March 1, 1947 in LaJunta, CO. She survives. Harold was preceded in death by a son Martin Dean Aragon on June 28, 1988, a grandson, Justin Hovey Aragon on April 23, 1983 and a granddaughter, Ashleigh Elizabeth Aragon on March 17, 1989.
Survivors beside his wife include; five sons, Rick Aragon of Centreville, AL, Terry (Lilly) Aragon of Bakersfield, CA, Edward (Lihong) Aragon of Albuquerque, NM, Dan (Charlene) Aragon of Topeka, and Steven (Debbie) Aragon of Tulsa, one daughter, Julie (Terry) Eisenhut of Alta Vista, KS and one sister, Helen (Louie) Galagos of La Junta, CO. Fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Aragon will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Friday at Mater Dei’s Assumption Church where the family will receive friends from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 6:00 p.m. Inurnment with military honors will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Mount Hope Cemetery.
