Raymond C. Dominguez

Raymond C. Dominguez, 80, of Topeka, passed away August 28, 2010 at Manor Care.

He was born April 20, 1930 in Topeka the son of Pedro and Juanita (Carrera) Dominguez.  Raymond graduated from Topeka High School in 1948.

Raymond served in the United States Army Air Corps and later the U.S. Air Force for twenty-seven years retiring as Senior Master Sergeant in 1975.

He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Raymond enjoyed golf, racquetball and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Raymond married Lydia Alonzo on October 6, 1951 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  They would have celebrated 59 years of marriage together in October. She survives.

Other survivors include; two sons, Raymond (Joanna) Dominguez Jr. of  Bellevue, NE and Gary (Cindy) Dominguez of Littleton, CO, four daughters, Patricia Bowden of Topeka, Debra (Andy) Karavas of Omaha, NE, Michelle Dominguez (Greg Rumpf) of Greensboro, NC and Amy (Thomas) Koetting of Milwaukee, WI, siblings, Pedro Dominguez, Jr. of Topeka, Miguel Padilla of Topeka, Steven Dominguez of Topeka, John Dominguez of Olathe, Mike Guerrero of Topeka, Eleanor Dominguez of Topeka and Trinidad Arzate of Emporia.  Thirteen grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Guadalupe Padilla.

Raymond will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. followed by a Parish Vigil at 7:00  p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery with military honors provided by Whiteman Air Force Base.

Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, or to the V.A. Disabled American Veterans.
