Mark R. Maas, 44, of Topeka, passed away Wednesday, August 25, 2010.
He was born on July 23, 1966 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Dale F. and Karen M. (Speaker) Maas.
Mark went to four years of Carpenter’s Apprenticeship school in Perry. He was a member of the Carpenters Local Union #1445 and a Project Superintendent for Senne & Company Contractors in Topeka.
Mark was a very caring person and everyone who knew him could always count on his listening and help. Spending time with his daughter, Kristen and being an avid Jayhawk fan were the things he truly enjoyed. He will be sorely missed by his family.
Mark was the proud father of his daughter Kristen, who survives. Survivors also include his step-son Mark Schwartz, US Navy stationed in Washington, his parents Karen and Dale, his sister Michele and husband Larry Rayborn, brother Michael and wife Cadie, two nephews, Chris Rayborn and Benjamin Maas all of Topeka, and his grandmother Elaine Walsh and partner Ross J. Slagle of Overbrook.
The family will receive friends at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Saturday from 2:00 until 3:30 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 3:30 p.m. Private inurnment will be held later at Mount Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kristen Maas Educational Trust and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas 66603.
