Pedro Tabares, 80 of Mexico died May 24, 2010 while visiting family in Topeka.
He was born July 22, 1929 in La Muralla, GTO, Mexico the son of Simeon and Tranquilina (Mancilla) Tabares.
Pedro was a member of St. Antonio di Pauda Catholic Church.
He was married to Marcelina Landeros in 1960 in Mexico, she survives.
Other survivors include his children, Pedro (Eladia) Tabares of Sunnyside, WA, Vicente (Maria) Tabares of Topeka, Maria (Brian) Stever of Topeka, Mary (Tony) Lein of North Platte, NE, Antonio (Magdalena) Tabares, Arturo Tabares, Isaias (Sarah) Tabares and Jose (Azvcena) Tabares all of Topeka, three sisters, Maria de la Luz of La Muralla, Mexico, Zenaida Tabares of Fresno, CA and Paula Tabares in La Muralla, Mexico. Twelve grandchildren also survive. Pedro was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Tabares will lie in state after 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church where a rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and sent in care of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., 66603.
