Vernon “Bub” O’Trimble, 72, Topeka died Thursday, April 29, 2010 at St. Francis Health Center.
Vernon was born December 11, 1937 in Nortonville, KS the son of Thomas and Verna Mae ( Bracken) O’Trimble.
Vernon was a Navy veteran. He owned a restaurant and a pool hall in Nortonville. After selling his businesses he worked for the Kansas State Hospital. When it closed he worked in the maintenance department at Kansas Neurological Institute.
Vernon married Helen R. Dugger on April 5, 1960. They celebrated 50 years of marriage. She survives. He is also survived by a son, Shawn T. and his wife Teri O’Trimble, daughter, Vicki and her husband Aundray Durr, three grandchildren, Zara O’Trimble, Shawn V. O’Trimble, and Isaiha Durr.
Vernon will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Graveside service will be 1:00 p.m. Monday at the Nortonville Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home to be designated by the family at a later date, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, KS 66603.
