Anthony Ortega

Anthony “Tony” Ortega passed away on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at St. Francis Hospital.

He was born in Topeka, Kansas on March 25, 1952 the son of Socorro “Collie” and Mary “Cora” (Vega) Ortega. 

Tony graduated from Topeka High School in 1970.  He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.  He was employed for 38 years for Josten’s Yearbook.

Tony is survived by three sons, Anthony, Nathan and Christopher Ortega all of Topeka, his siblings, Rudy Ortega of Irvine, CA; Robert (Delores) Ortega of Eudora, Ks., Phil Ortega of Topeka, Alfred (Twyla) Ortega of McPherson, Ks., Libby Smith of Carbondale, Ks., Frank (Liz) Ortega of Topeka, Anna Marie Ortega of Topeka, Sally Ann (Ray) Head of Topeka, Diana Ortega of Lawrenceville, GA., Christopher (Kathy) Ortega of Topeka and Paul Ortega of Topeka.  He is also survived by 28 nieces and nephews and 18 great nieces and nephews, his Aunts and Uncles:  Patricia (Terry) Musser of Atchison, Roger (Helen) Ortega of Carbondale, Ks., Mary Lopez of Kansas City, Rita Munoz of Topeka and his step mother Norma Ortega of Topeka.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel in 1962, his father Socorro Ortega in 1998 and his mother Mary “Cora” Ortega-Carmona in 2004.

A Memorial Graveside Service will be held at Mt. Calvary Cemetery on Monday, May  3rd, at 2:30 p.m.
