November 22, 1931 — April 18, 2010

O. Eugene Brammer, 78, of Herington, and formerly of Topeka, died April 18, 2010 in Herington, Kansas.

Eugene was born on November 22, 1931 to Ocel H. and Delpha M. (Myers) Brammer in rural Goff in Nemaha County.

He attended Goff High School graduating in 1949.  On February 11, 1950, he married Irene P. Kissel.  To this union five children were born, Linda, Gloria, Marcia, Vickie and Curt.

Eugene was a farmer, first and foremost.  He had a farm northwest of Topeka where he raised horned Hereford cattle and many crops.  He worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber for 27 years as a maintenance man, repairing machines.  After he retired from Goodyear, he tried many different ventures of sales from Vigortone feeds, Hogemeyer seeds to Conklin products.  Being able to strike up a conversation with strangers made him a great salesman.  He had most recently worked for Presbyterian Manor in Topeka where he enjoyed his job in maintenance and the contact with all the staff and residents.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Irene, daughters, Marcia and Linda, grandson, Clint Glessner, great grandson, Joshua Salyer, sister and brother-in-law, Jeanette and Marvin Swart, brother-in-law, John Kissel, and close family friend John Kinish.

Survivors include his daughters, Gloria Lansbury and Vickie (Mark) Edwards of Topeka, son, Curt (Toni) Brammer of Wilsey, sister and brother-in-law, Corolene and Jerry Johnson of Bella Vita, AR. and sister-in-law, Lucille Kissel of Wetmore, eleven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and six nieces and nephews.
