Marcella R. Haynes

March 11, 1922 — April 15, 2010

Marcella Rose Haynes, 88, of Topeka, passed away April 15, 2010  at her home.

 

She was born March 11, 1922 in Paxico the daughter of Isedor and Ottilia (Meinhardt) Glotzbach.  Marcella was a graduate of Paxico High School.

 

Mrs. Haynes was employed by AT & SF Railway during WW II.  She later worked at KNI before she retired.

 

Marcella was a member of Mater Dei Parish.

 

She was married to John Joseph Haynes on September 17, 1946.  He preceded her in death on April 11, 2007.  Marcella was also preceded in death by a granddaughter Kelsey Rose, a great granddaughter Kelsey Claire and other family members, Herbert Glotzbach, Tom and Olive Roth, Marvin and Genevieve Branson, Evelyn and Larry Pierce, Betty Glotzbach and Lorraine Sack.

 

She is survived by two daughters, Teresa “Teri” Hare and her husband Stephen of Topeka, Sr. Eileen Haynes SCL of Easton, Ks., three sons, John Haynes and wife Annette of Pacifica, Ca., Richard Haynes and wife Sharon of Topeka, Tony Haynes and wife Cindy of Tecumseh, thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, four sisters, Isabelle Hull and husband Lawrence of Topeka, Irma Meredith and husband Jack of Los Angeles, CA., JoAnn Miller and husband Dale of Topeka, Edith Sack of St. Marys, Ks., one brother, Dennis Glotzbach and wife Ruby of Topeka, sisters-in-law, Irene Glotzbach of Topeka and Margaret Haynes of Los Angeles, Ca., and numerous nieces and nephews.

 

Marcella will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Monday after 2:00 p.m. where a Parish Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. and the family will receive friends following the rosary until 8:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at Mater Dei’s Holy Name Parish.  Interment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. 

 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Marian Clinic or Mater Dei’s Building Fund in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas  66603.
