Edna M. Kirkpatrick

Edna Marie Kirkpatrick, 92, of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Topeka, died April 14, 2010.

She was born in Topeka, Kansas on September 7, 1917 the daughter of Richard M. and Mary Cecilia “Mamie” (Donahue) Hunt.

Edna was a homemaker.  She had also been a Secretary for the Superintendant of Public Instruction.

Mrs. Kirkpatrick was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Daughter’s of Isabella Little Flower Circle #503.

She married Charles D. Kirkpatrick on July 14, 1947 in Topeka, Kansas.  He preceded her in death on January 21, 2004.  Survivors include her two daughters, Kathleen Kirkpatrick of Overland Park, Kansas, Jeanne Boydston of Ames, Iowa, Jeanne’s husband Roger and their children Brad and Emily.  A sister, Mary Rita Hayes, of Reno, Nevada also survives.

Edna will lie in state at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. where a Daughters of Isabella Rosary will be recited with the Parish at 2:00 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1:00 p.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church.  Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery.
