Harry Raymond Johnson, 91, of Topeka, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Topeka Presbyterian Manor.
He was born October 7, 1918 in Garrison, KS the son of Nels Peter and Tillie (Lofgren) Johnson. Harry served in the United States Army during WW II.
Mr. Johnson was employed at Whelan Lumber Company from August 20, 1954 to April 3, 1981. At the time of his retirement he was a warehouseman.
Harry was a member of Mater Dei Parish and Capitol Post #1 of the American Legion.
He was married to Irene A. Long on December 16, 1944. She preceded him in death January 18, 2002.
Survivors include numerous nieces and nephews.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Mater Dei’s Assumption Church. Burial will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mater Dei’s Assumption Church and sent in care of the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, 66603.
