Fritz E. McClanahan

Fritz E. McClanahan, 87, of Topeka, died march 17, 2010 at his home.

He was born in Lecompton, Kansas on March 13, 1923 the son of Walter O. and Hazel Alice Bertschinger McClanahan.

Fritz was a graduate of Lawrence High School in 1940.  Mr. McClanahan served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II from 1943 to 1945. 

He was a Marketing Manager for the NCR Corporation for 38 years.    Fritz was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church, Elks Lodge #204 and the American Legion Post #5 in Emporia, Kansas.

Mr. McClanahan married Virginia Rison on August 16, 1952.  She survives of the home.  He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

Mr. McClanahan will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Friday after 2:00 p.m. where the family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church.  Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kansas Elks Training Center for the Handicapped, 1006 E. Waterman St., Wichita, Kansas  67211-1525.
