Verna Opal Brosemer

Verna Opal Brosemer, 92, Topeka died Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at the Kansas Rehabilitation Hospital.

She was born July 27, 1917 in Burlington, the daughter of William and Mary (Ferris) Kellum.

Verna was united in marriage to Lawrence Brosemer on February 19, 1934 in Burlington, he preceded her in death.

Verna was also preceded in death by an infant son, Alfred, daughter, Winifred Eastwood, one brother and two sisters.  She is survived by her children, Barbara Rhoads, Patricia Rodriguez, both of Topeka, Catherine Spangler, Broomfield, CO, Larry and Steven Brosemer, both of Topeka.  Sisters Bonita Knight and Geneva Duncan, 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren 12 great-great grandchildren

Verna will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. Sunday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m.  Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday at West Side Christian Church, 432 SW Lindenwood Ave., burial will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
