Clara Mary Beasley

Clara Mary (Macke) Beasley, 90, of Topeka, passed away on February 16th at her home after a long battle with cancer.  She was born on February 2, 1920 in Baileyville, Kansas the daughter of Frank and Katie (Enneking) Macke.

She graduated from Baileyville grade school and worked as a nanny in Kansas City and then as office manager for FW Woolworth in Topeka for 30 years until her retirement.  Clara was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.

She was married to Donald F. Beasley in 1941.  He preceded her in death in 1985.  She was also preceded in death by two grandsons, Eric Beasley and James (Jamie) Hutfles.

Survivors include her two daughters, Lynda and husband Jerry Hutfles and Donna and husband James Harrington and a son David and his wife LuAnn, eight grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice of Topeka or Sacred Heart/St. Joseph Catholic Church and sent in care of Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home, 800 SW 6th Ave., Topeka, Kansas  66603.

Clara will lie in state at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 312 NE Freeman, after 4:00 p.m. on Thursday where an Altar Society rosary will be at 5:30 p.m. and a Parish rosary will be at 6:30 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Reverend Tim Haberkorn as celebrant.  Interment will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
