Carmen Cortes

Carmen Cortes, 86, died February 15, 2010 in Topeka. Carmen was born April 4, 1923 in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.  She married Justino Cortes who preceded her in death.  Survivors include her ten children; Jorge, Maria, Gloria, Ricardo, Guadalupe, Miguel, Marco, Carmen, Justino, and Esther.  She is also survived by 35 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.

Carmen will lie in state after 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 2-8 p.m. and after 3:00 P.M. Thursday at Our Lady of Guadalupe with a Legion of Mary Rosary at 6:00 p.m. followed by a  Parish Vigil at 7:00 P.M.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Friday at the church, with burial to follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
