Mary Louise Moranz Eck, born on April 29, 1928, left this world to join her Lord on January 29, 2010, at the age of 81.
Mary Lou was born to Edward J. Moranz and Louisa Abigail Foley Moranz. She later was joined with two siblings, brother, Ed, Jr. and a sister, Martha. They grew up in the areas of Bendina, and Atchison, KS.
Mary Lou graduated from high school at Mount St Scholastica, in Atchison. James G. Eck “Jim” and Mary Lou Moranz were married on April 29, 1947, at Sacred Heart Church in Atchison. He preceded her in death December 17, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents, her sister Martha and two grandsons.
Mary Lou was a member of St Aloysius Church, Meriden and had been active for many years in their altar society.
Left here to celebrate her life are her children: Jim Eck and wife, Donna, of Ozawkie, Louis E. Eck and wife, Marilyn, of Marion, NY; Steven E. Eck and wife, Cheri, of Windom,; Thomas L. Eck and wife, Teresa, of Topeka, Louella Eck Faught, and husband Ron Faught, of Topeka; Carol Eck Banker and husband, Dale Banker of Topeka, and Vicki Eck Narverud and husband, David, of Meriden. She is also survived by her brother Edward J. Moranz, Jr. of Mountain Home, AR, 26 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.
Mary Lou will lie in state after 5:00 P.M. Tuesday at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Meriden with a Parish Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church, burial to follow in the St. Aloysius Cemetery.
