Marie M. Chandler, 89, Topeka, died Tuesday, December 29, 2009, at Stormont Vail Health Care. She was born in Aberdeen, S.D. on December 20, 1920 the daughter of Walter and Bernadine (Geier) Brendel, she was one of nine children. Marie attended Aberdeen public schools.
She enjoyed watching sports, country music, her dog Ginger, and her nieces and nephews.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
She married William B. Chandler on January 10, 1948 in San Diego, CA,
She was preceded in death by sisters, Eva Dosch Nelson and Joan Heilman, niece, Brittani Jeanneret and a nephew Chuck Lawson. She is survived by her husband, William B. Chandler, of the home, four sisters, Rose Jeanneret (Leonard), Topeka, Kate Gross, Helen Drager, Bea Hawkins (Larry), two brothers, Walter Brendel, and George Brendel (Veronica) all of Aberdeen, S.D. along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Chandler will lie in state from 12:00 noon until 4:00 P.M. Sunday, January 3, 2010 at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home where a parish rosary will be prayed at 1:00 P.M. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated
12:00 P.M. Monday, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Mount Hope Cemetery.
