Edward V. Perez, 52, of Topeka, died December 16, 2009 at his home.
He was born in Topeka, Kansas on January 11, 1957 the son of Isaac and Guadalupe (Vargas) Perez. He served in the U.S. Army.
Eddie worked in Food Service for the Colmery-O’Neil VA Medical Center. He enjoyed watching sport especially the Denver Broncos. He loved playing the guitar and Carlos Santana.
He was married to Lisa Hale in Las Vegas, Nevada. She survives. Other survivors include his mother, Guadalupe Perez of Topeka, three brothers, Isaac Perez Jr. of Topeka, Christopher Perez of Anacortes, WA., Rudy Perez of Dallas, TX., a sister, Anna Sargent of Topeka, four uncles, Felix Vargas of Topeka, Manuel Vargas of Kansas City, KS., Cano Vargas of Pico Rivera, CA., Merced Vargas of Atwater, CA. and numerous nieces and nephews.
Eddie will lie in state at the Brennan-Mathena Funeral Home on Sunday from 4-8 p.m. where a Parish Prayer Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery with military honors conducted by Philip Billard Post #1650 of the VFW.
